Description
23,509 mayoral candidacy observations from 4,624 electoral contests in 846 Italian municipalities with over 15,000 inhabitants, spanning 1993 to 2024. Vittorio Mete compiled this dataset by integrating official election archives with candidate socio-demographic data from ISTAT and manually coding political affiliations. The data supports longitudinal analysis of electoral dynamics in two-round systems.
