Description
Aurora Geosciences Ltd reprocessed publicly available digital magnetic geophysical data from assessment reports submitted to the Government of Yukon prior to March 2015. The data were levelled and integrated with 1:250,000 scale compilations to produce standardized gridded products. The dataset includes four derivative grids: residual total magnetic field, reduced to pole, vertical derivative, and tilt derivative.
Use Cases
Mineral exploration targeting based on processed magnetic anomaly maps.
Regional geological mapping based on integrated 1:250,000 scale magnetic compilations.
Geophysical analysis using derivative grids like the vertical derivative and tilt derivative.
Data validation and comparison against original survey data referenced in YGS Open File 2017-10.
Strengths
Data integrated from multiple public assessment reports into standardized compilations.
Includes four processed derivative grids (residual, reduced to pole, vertical derivative, tilt derivative) for analysis.
Original source data is documented and accessible via YGS Open File 2017-10.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and specific data volume are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data freshness should be verified as the underlying assessment reports are from before March 2015.
