Description
Reprocessing of magnetic data for Yukon was performed between November 2016 and March 2017. Aeromagnetic data were compiled, merged, and levelled to produce derivative maps for each 250k-scale map sheet. The dataset includes four magnetic derivative maps per sheet, provided as PDFs, GeoTIFFs, and Geosoft grid files by the Government of Yukon.
Use Cases
Mineral exploration targeting based on processed magnetic field derivatives.
Geological structure mapping based on Reduced-to-Pole (RTP) and Tilt Derivative (RTP_TDR) maps.
Regional geophysical analysis based on the compiled and levelled aeromagnetic data.
Strengths
Data processing occurred over a defined period from November 2016 to March 2017.
Four specific magnetic derivative products are generated for each map sheet.
Data is provided in three standard geospatial formats: PDF, GeoTIFF, and Geosoft grid.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment for ML applications.
Provenance
Source
Government of Yukon | Gouvernement du Yukon
Collection Method
Aeromagnetic data were compiled, data of different resolutions were merged, and a series of images individually levelled for each map sheet were produced.
Time Range
Reprocessing performed between November 2016 and March 2017.
