Description
Aurora Geosciences Ltd reprocessed publicly available digital magnetic geophysical data from assessment reports submitted prior to March 2015. The individual data were levelled and integrated with 1:250,000 scale compilations to produce four standardized gridded products. The resulting PDFs include residual total magnetic field, reduced to pole, vertical derivative, and tilt derivative maps.
Use Cases
Mineral exploration targeting based on processed magnetic anomaly maps.
Regional geological mapping based on integrated 1:250,000 scale magnetic compilations.
Geophysical analysis based on derivative products like vertical and tilt derivatives.
Data validation and comparison against original assessment report data.
Strengths
Data integrated from multiple public assessment reports into standardized products.
Includes four distinct processed magnetic field products (residual, reduced to pole, vertical derivative, tilt derivative).
Original source data is referenced to a specific open file (YGS Open File 2017-22).
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and dataset size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data may reflect temporal bias, as it includes only reports submitted prior to March 2015.
Provenance
Source
Government of Yukon, based on data from public assessment reports.
Collection Method
Contractor review, levelling, and integration of existing digital data.
Time Range
Data from assessment reports submitted prior to March 2015.
Freshness
Last updated 2026-05-20 16:11:37.274474; freshness should be verified.
Geography
Yukon, Canada, specifically for National Topographic System (NTS) map sheet 105N.
License is OGL-CA-2.0; primary deliverables are gridded PDFs within a ZIP archive.
