Description
Aurora Geosciences Ltd reprocessed publicly available digital magnetic geophysical data submitted with assessment reports prior to March 2015. The data were levelled and integrated with 1:250,000 compilations to produce standardized gridded products. Four gridded PDFs are available, including residual total magnetic field, reduced to pole, vertical derivative, and tilt derivative.
Use Cases
Mineral exploration targeting based on processed magnetic field anomalies.
Geological mapping and structural interpretation based on derivative magnetic grids.
Integrating historical assessment data into regional compilations based on the levelling and standardization process.
Strengths
Data integrated from multiple assessment reports into a standardized 1:250,000 scale compilation.
Includes four derivative products (residual, reduced to pole, vertical derivative, tilt derivative) for enhanced analysis.
Original source data is referenced to a specific open file (YGS Open File 2017-26).
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data may reflect geographic and temporal bias inherent to the source assessment reports.
Provenance
Source
Government of Yukon, data compiled by Aurora Geosciences Ltd.
Collection Method
Review, levelling, and integration of publicly available digital magnetic data from assessment reports.
Time Range
Data submitted prior to March 2015.
