Description
Yukon, Canada, is the geographic scope of this reprocessed aeromagnetic dataset. The data was compiled and processed between November 2016 and March 2017 by the Government of Yukon. It includes four derivative magnetic field maps produced for each 250k-scale map sheet, available in PDF, GeoTIFF, and Geosoft grid formats.
Use Cases
Mineral prospectivity mapping based on the Residual Total Magnetic Field and Reduced-to-Pole (RTP) magnetic field maps.
Structural geological interpretation based on the First Vertical Derivative of the RTP magnetic field.
Edge detection of magnetic sources for geological feature identification based on the Tilt Derivative of the RTP magnetic field.
Strengths
Includes four specific processed magnetic derivative products per map sheet: Residual Total Magnetic Field, RTP, RTP_VD, and RTP_TDR.
Data is provided in three standard geospatial formats: PDF, GeoTIFF, and Geosoft grid files.
Processing period is explicitly stated as November 2016 to March 2017.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and dataset size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data may reflect geographic bias inherent to the specific NTS 106E map sheet area in Yukon.
