Description
Reprocessing of magnetic data for Yukon was performed between November 2016 and March 2017. Aeromagnetic data were compiled and merged to produce a series of levelled derivative maps for each 250k-scale map sheet, including Residual Total Magnetic Field and Reduced-to-Pole derivatives. The maps are provided by the Government of Yukon in PDF, GeoTIFF, and Geosoft grid formats.
Use Cases
Mineral exploration targeting based on magnetic anomaly patterns.
Geological mapping and structural interpretation based on Reduced-to-Pole magnetic field data.
Geophysical research and analysis using the provided first vertical derivative and tilt derivative maps.
Strengths
Reprocessing performed over a defined period from November 2016 to March 2017.
Four distinct magnetic derivative maps were produced for each map sheet.
Data is provided in multiple standard geospatial formats (PDF, GeoTIFF, Geosoft grid).
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data may reflect geographic bias inherent to the Yukon region.
