Description
Yukon, Canada, magnetic geophysical data from assessment reports submitted before March 2015 have been reprocessed. Aurora Geosciences Ltd. performed the review, leveling individual reports and integrating them with 1:250,000 scale compilations. The output includes four gridded PDF products: residual total magnetic field, reduced to pole, vertical derivative, and tilt derivative.
Use Cases
Mineral exploration targeting based on processed magnetic field derivatives.
Geological mapping and structural interpretation based on reduced-to-pole magnetic data.
Integrating historical assessment data with regional compilations for a unified geophysical model.
Strengths
Data integrated from multiple assessment reports into standardized 1:250,000 scale compilations.
Includes four derivative data products (residual, reduced-to-pole, vertical derivative, tilt derivative) for enhanced analysis.
Original source data is documented and available in a referenced open file (YGS Open File 2017-38).
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and dataset size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data may reflect temporal bias, as it includes only reports submitted prior to March 2015.
Provenance
Source
Government of Yukon, based on assessment reports submitted to the government.
Collection Method
Contractor (Aurora Geosciences Ltd.) review, leveling, and integration of publicly available digital data.
Time Range
Data from assessment reports submitted prior to March 2015.
