Description
Aurora Geosciences Ltd reprocessed publicly available digital magnetic geophysical data from assessment reports submitted prior to March 2015. The individual datasets were levelled and integrated with 1:250,000 scale compilations. The resulting products include four gridded PDFs showing residual total magnetic field, reduced-to-pole, vertical derivative, and tilt derivative.
Use Cases
Analyzing subsurface geological structures based on processed magnetic field data.
Integrating levelled magnetic data with regional compilations for large-scale geological studies.
Using derivative maps (vertical, tilt) to highlight magnetic anomalies for resource exploration.
Strengths
Data was professionally reprocessed and levelled by a contracted geoscience firm.
Products are integrated with standardized 1:250,000 scale compilations.
Includes four distinct processed data products (residual, reduced-to-pole, vertical derivative, tilt derivative).
Limitations
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Provenance
Source
Government of Yukon, based on data from public assessment reports.
Collection Method
Reprocessing and levelling of existing digital magnetic data by Aurora Geosciences Ltd.
Time Range
Data submitted prior to March 2015.
