Description
A reprocessed compilation of magnetic geophysical data from the Yukon, Canada, specifically for National Topographic System map sheet 116A. Aurora Geosciences Ltd performed a review and standardization of publicly available digital magnetic data submitted with assessment reports prior to March 2015. The output includes four gridded PDF products: residual total magnetic field, reduced to pole, vertical derivative, and tilt derivative.
Use Cases
Mineral exploration targeting based on processed magnetic field derivatives.
Geological mapping and structural interpretation based on reduced-to-pole magnetic data.
Integrating historical assessment data with regional compilations for regional studies.
Strengths
Data integrated from multiple assessment reports and levelled with 1:250,000 scale compilations.
Includes four standardized derivative products (residual, reduced-to-pole, vertical derivative, tilt derivative) for analysis.
Original source data is documented and available in YGS Open File 2017-44.
Limitations
Row count and specific column-level documentation are absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Data freshness should be verified as the underlying assessment reports considered were submitted prior to March 2015.
Provenance
Source
Government of Yukon, based on data from public assessment reports.
Collection Method
Contractor (Aurora Geosciences Ltd) review, levelling, and integration of submitted digital data.
Time Range
Assessment report data submitted prior to March 2015.
Freshness
Last updated 2026-05-20 16:33:56.942820; freshness should be verified
Geography
Yukon, Canada, specifically National Topographic System map sheet 116A.
