Description
Yukon, Canada magnetic geophysical data from assessment reports submitted prior to March 2015, reprocessed by Aurora Geosciences Ltd. The work involved levelling individual reports and integrating them with 1:250,000 scale compilations. Four gridded PDF products were generated, including residual total magnetic field and reduced-to-pole data.
Use Cases
Regional geological mapping based on reprocessed magnetic field data.
Mineral exploration targeting using derived products like vertical and tilt derivatives.
Integrating historical assessment data with regional compilations for standardized analysis.
Strengths
Data integrated from multiple assessment reports into standardized 1:250,000 scale compilations.
Four distinct processed data products (gridded PDFs) are available for analysis.
Original source data is documented in a specific open file report (YGS Open File 2017-45).
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and dataset size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data may reflect temporal bias, as it includes reports submitted only prior to March 2015.
Provenance
Source
Government of Yukon, based on assessment reports submitted to the government.
Collection Method
Contractor (Aurora Geosciences Ltd) review, levelling, and integration of publicly available digital magnetic data.
Time Range
Data from assessment reports submitted prior to March 2015.
Freshness
Last updated 2026-05-20 15:42:21.268722; freshness should be verified.
