Description
Yukon, Canada, is covered by reprocessed aeromagnetic data compiled between November 2016 and March 2017. The Government of Yukon produced four magnetic derivative maps for each 1:250,000-scale map sheet: Residual Total Magnetic Field, Reduced-to-Pole Magnetic Field, and its first vertical and tilt derivatives. The processed data is provided as PDFs, GeoTIFFs, and Geosoft grid files.
Use Cases
Mineral prospectivity mapping based on processed magnetic derivative maps.
Geological structure interpretation based on Reduced-to-Pole (RTP) magnetic field data.
Regional geological analysis based on aeromagnetic data merged from different resolutions.
Creating custom geophysical overlays based on provided GeoTIFF and grid file formats.
Strengths
Includes four specific derivative map products per map sheet: Residual Total Magnetic Field, RTP, RTP_VD, and RTP_TDR.
Data was reprocessed and levelled over a defined period from November 2016 to March 2017.
Maps are provided in three standard geospatial formats: PDF, GeoTIFF, and Geosoft grid.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Freshness should be verified; the last update timestamp is 2026-05-20.
