Description
Reprocessing of Yukon magnetic data was performed between November 2016 and March 2017. Aeromagnetic data were compiled and merged to produce four derivative maps per 250k-scale map sheet: Residual Total Magnetic Field, Reduced-to-Pole Magnetic Field, and its First Vertical and Tilt Derivatives. The maps are provided as PDFs, GeoTIFFs, and Geosoft grid files by the Government of Yukon.
Use Cases
Mineral prospectivity mapping based on magnetic derivative maps.
Geological structure interpretation based on Reduced-to-Pole and Tilt Derivative data.
Regional-scale geophysical analysis based on the 250k-scale map sheet products.
Strengths
Includes four processed magnetic derivative products per map sheet.
Data provided in three standard geospatial formats: PDF, GeoTIFF, and Geosoft grid.
Reprocessing was performed over a defined period from November 2016 to March 2017.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Provenance
Source
Government of Yukon
Collection Method
Reprocessing involved compiling aeromagnetic data, merging different resolutions, and individually levelling images for each map sheet.
Time Range
Reprocessing performed between November 2016 and March 2017.
