Description
Goldak Airborne Surveys collected 37,999 line kilometres of high-resolution magnetic data for the Geological Survey of Canada between January 25th and March 26th, 2011. The survey covered parts of NTS 115 H/6, 7, 10, 11 in Yukon, with traverse lines flown at 400 m spacing and control lines at 2400 m separation. Aircraft equipment included three cesium vapour magnetometers, GPS positioning systems, and altimeters.
Use Cases
Map subsurface geological structures based on high-resolution magnetic field data.
Support mineral exploration targeting based on magnetic anomalies.
Integrate with other geophysical datasets for regional geological interpretation.
Strengths
37,999 line kilometres of high-resolution magnetic data were collected.
Survey used high-sensitivity equipment including three cesium vapour magnetometers.
Flown at a nominal terrain clearance of 100 m with defined line spacings of 400 m and 2400 m.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data may reflect geographic bias inherent to the specific survey area.
