Description
AUSTopo 1:250,000 digital map of the Richmond area, part of a 516-map series covering Australia. The map depicts natural and constructed features including road and rail infrastructure, vegetation, hydrography, and 50-meter contours. It uses GDA94/GDA2020 datum and UTM projection, provided as a digital PDF.
Use Cases
Extract road and rail infrastructure features for regional transportation network analysis.
Analyze hydrography and 50-meter contour intervals for watershed and terrain modeling.
Identify vegetation coverage and administrative boundaries for land-use planning.
Georeference map features using its GDA94/GDA2020 datum and UTM projection for integration with other spatial data.
Strengths
Part of a standardized 516-map series providing continent-wide coverage of Australia.
Contains multiple feature layers including infrastructure, vegetation, hydrography, and contours.
Uses modern geodetic datums (GDA94, GDA2020) and AHD for vertical reference.
Limitations
Data is provided only in PDF format, requiring extraction for analytical use.
Map may contain information from surrounding sheets, potentially complicating precise area-of-interest analysis.
