Rift Evolution in the Capel and Faust Basins, Offshore Eastern Australia

High-quality 2D seismic data, multibeam bathymetry, gravity, magnetic, and rock samples were acquired under Australian government programs from 2003 to 2011. Geoscience Australia analyzed these data for a geological and petroleum prospectivity assessment of the basins located in 1300-2500 m water depths. The interpretation improved the definition of depocentres, with the largest being approximately 150 km long and 40 km wide.
