Rig Seismic Geophysical and Geological Research Cruise off Western and Southeastern Tasman

A 1988 research cruise collected geophysical and geological data on the Tasmanian margin from March 24 to April 18. The R/V Rig Seismic, operated by the Bureau of Mineral Resources, conducted 1,750 km of multichannel seismic surveying on the west Tasmanian margin and 265 km off southeast Tasmania. Geological sampling included 12 stations for basement and older sequences and 37 coring stations for Cainozoic sedimentation and gas analysis.
