Seismic and Geological Survey of Tasmanian Continental Margin

A 1988 research cruise collected 1,750 km of multichannel seismic data on the west Tasmanian margin and 265 km off southeast Tasmania. The Bureau of Mineral Resources (BMR) vessel R/V Rig Seismic also conducted geological sampling at 49 stations and thermal measurements at 10 stations. This work aimed to define basin geology, rifting history, and petroleum potential.
