Rig Seismic Geophysical and Geological Research Cruise off Tasmania, 1988

A Bureau of Mineral Resources research cruise collected geophysical and geological data on the Tasmanian margin in 1988. The R/V Rig Seismic acquired 2,015 km of multichannel seismic profiles and conducted geological sampling at 49 stations. This work aimed to define basin geology, rifting history, stratigraphy, and petroleum potential.
