Direct brain recordings from the human temporal cortex include intracranial EEG (iEEG), local field potential (LFP), and single unit activity. The data, from the National Institutes of Health, demonstrate that 80–120 Hz ripple oscillations contribute to broadband high-frequency activity and reflect underlying neuronal spiking synchrony.
