Description
A Chandra ACIS-I survey of a high-latitude region at RA, Dec = 13 hours, +38 degrees, observed for a total of 120 ks across four pointings. The table contains 214 X-ray sources detected above a 5-sigma significance to a limiting flux of ~1.3e-15 erg/cm²/s, with optical counterpart data from Subaru SuprimeCam images. This catalog was created by NASA HEASARC in July 2013 based on CDS source files.
Use Cases
Cross-matching X-ray sources with optical counterparts based on arcsecond positions.
Analyzing the log N/log S distribution for sources around the knee of the X-ray background.
Studying the range of optical magnitudes for a given X-ray flux to infer emission mechanisms.
Comparing source positions and identifications with earlier ROSAT survey data.
Investigating sources with high L_X/L_opt ratios to study absorption at moderate redshift.
Strengths
Provides arcsecond or better positions for reliable source identifications.
Contains 214 detected sources with a defined significance threshold (Cash likelihood statistic of 25).
Includes optical counterpart data from Subaru SuprimeCam images reaching to R ~ 27.
Enables direct comparison with earlier ROSAT and concurrent XMM-Newton observations of the same field.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
Provenance
Source
NASA HEASARC, based on CDS Catalog J/MNRAS/342/802.
Collection Method
Chandra ACIS-I mosaic observations arranged in four 30-ks pointings.
Time Range
Observations were conducted after recent XMM-Newton observations; specific observation dates are not provided.
