Over 2,000 high school and college student responses to a survey investigating the relationship between self-esteem and substance use. The data includes responses on the intensity of tobacco, marijuana, alcohol, and drug use, as well as self-esteem and cultural norm items. The study, authored by Marvin Rosenberg, used the social deviance model but failed to find consistent support for it.
