Description
NASA's ancillary data archive for the Rosetta Lander's comet phase includes trajectory, attitude, and Sun direction information. The data was taken around the landing on comet 67P and synthesized from instruments like CONSERT, ROLIS, ROMAP, RSI, and OSIRIS. Version 2.0 provides improved trajectories and the latest lander position.
Use Cases
Analyze spacecraft trajectory and attitude based on ancillary data mentioned in the description
Model Sun direction relative to the lander based on the described data features
Validate landing event timing and position on comet 67P based on the synthesized instrument data
Strengths
Data synthesized from multiple scientific instruments (CONSERT, ROLIS, ROMAP, RSI, OSIRIS)
Version 2.0 provides improved trajectories and updated lander position
Data covers the critical comet landing phase on 67P
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
Provenance
Source
National Aeronautics and Space Administration
Collection Method
Created from CONSERT, ROLIS, ROMAP, RSI and OSIRIS data
Time Range
Around the time of the landing on comet 67P
