Description
From 2016-04 05 to 2016-05-03, this dataset contains radiometric calibrated image data acquired by the OSIRIS Narrow Angle Camera on the Rosetta spacecraft. The data targets comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko and is provided by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. This version V3.0 includes corrections from peer reviews, updated documentation, and improvements to data quality handling.
Use Cases
Analyzing comet surface features and activity based on calibrated narrow-angle imagery.
Studying temporal changes on comet 67P based on data from a specific mission phase.
Validating or comparing radiometric calibration techniques for space-based instruments.
Developing image processing algorithms for handling spacecraft data with packet loss or quality flags.
Strengths
Data is radiometrically calibrated to physical units (W/m^2/sr/nm).
Dataset version V3.0 incorporates corrections from external peer reviews in 2018.
Includes specific documentation on bandpass filters and a user guide with FAQ and data quality sections.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and file size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
