Description
From September 23, 2014 to October 24, 2014, the OSIRIS Narrow Angle Camera on the Rosetta spacecraft acquired radiometric calibrated image data of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. This version 3.0 dataset, delivered by NASA, includes corrected data, updated documentation, and improved handling of images with missing packets.
Use Cases
Analyze comet surface features and morphology based on calibrated narrow-angle images.
Study radiometric properties of comet 67P based on data calibrated in W/m^2/sr/nm.
Assess image data quality for scientific analysis based on updated quality maps and documentation.
Compare cometary features over the specified mission phase based on the time-series of images.
Strengths
Data is radiometric calibrated in the unit W/m^2/sr/nm.
Dataset version 3.0 includes corrections from external peer reviews and updated ancillary files.
Coverage period is explicitly defined from 2014-09-23T10:00:00.000 to 2014-10-24T09:59:59.000.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
