Description
From 2016-05 31 to 2016-06-28, the OSIRIS Narrow Angle Camera on the Rosetta spacecraft acquired this set of calibrated images of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The data is processed to level 4, with corrections for stray light, radiometry, and geometry, and is provided in units of W/m^2/sr/nm. This V1.0 dataset was produced by NASA following an external peer review in October 2018.
Use Cases
Analyzing comet surface brightness and albedo based on radiometrically calibrated image data.
Studying temporal changes in comet 67P's activity based on images from a specific mission phase.
Developing or validating image processing pipelines for stray light and geometric distortion correction.
Mapping cometary features using geometrically corrected and resampled image frames.
Strengths
Data is processed to CODMAC level 4, indicating a high level of calibration and correction.
Covers a defined one-month observation period from 2016-05-31 to 2016-06 -28.
Includes corrections for solar stray light, radiometry, and geometric distortion.
Dataset version (V1.0) is specified, indicating a reviewed release.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and file size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
