Description
ROSETTA-ORBITER 67P OSINAC 4 EXT3-MTP033 RDR-STRLIGHT V1.0 is a calibrated image dataset from the Rosetta spacecraft's OSIRIS Narrow Angle Camera. The dataset contains solar stray light corrected, radiometric calibrated, and geometric distortion corrected images of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, covering the period from 2016-08-09 to 2016-09-02. This version V1.0 is the first release of this dataset, corrected after an October 2018 external peer review.
Use Cases
Analyze cometary surface morphology and activity based on calibrated, high-resolution images.
Study temporal changes on comet 67P based on data covering a specific mission phase.
Validate or develop image correction algorithms for spaceborne instruments based on the described stray light and radiometric calibration.
Model cometary photometric properties based on radiometrically calibrated data in W/m^2/sr/nm.
Strengths
Data has undergone solar stray light correction, radiometric calibration, and geometric distortion correction.
Dataset version V1.0 is the result of a post-October 2018 external peer review process.
Covers a defined observation period from 2016-08-09T23:25:00.000 to 2016-09-02T06:39:59.000.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and file size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
