Description
From 2014-09-02T10:00:00.000 to 2014-09-23T09:59:59.000, the dataset contains solar stray-light corrected, radiometric calibrated, and geometric distortion corrected image data acquired by the OSIRIS Narrow Angle Camera on the Rosetta spacecraft during the PRELANDING mission phase. The prime target is comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko 1 (1969 R1). This version V1.0 is the first version of this dataset, produced by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Use Cases
Analyze comet surface features based on calibrated image data.
Study comet brightness and albedo variations based on radiometric calibration.
Map geometric distortions on comet images for precise surface modeling.
Investigate stray-light effects in space imagery based on correction processes.
Strengths
Images are solar stray-light corrected, in-field stray-light corrected, radiometric calibrated, and geometric distortion corrected.
Data covers a specific period from 2014-09-02T10:00:00.000 to 2014-09-23T09:59:59.000.
Dataset is CODMAC level 4, indicating a processed data product.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
