Description
OSIRIS Narrow Angle Camera images of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, acquired by the Rosetta spacecraft from 2014-10 24T10:00:00.000 to 2014-11-21T23:24:59.000 during the PRELANDING mission phase. This CODMAC level 4 dataset contains solar stray light corrected, radiometric calibrated, and geometric distortion corrected image data in reflectance units. The dataset is produced by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, with version V1.0 representing the first version after an external peer review.
Use Cases
Analyze cometary surface morphology and features based on calibrated reflectance imagery.
Train computer vision models for feature detection on extraterrestrial bodies using processed space images.
Study temporal changes on a comet's surface during a specific mission phase using the defined date range.
Validate remote sensing calibration and correction techniques using the described CODMAC level 4 processing.
Strengths
Data is processed to CODMAC level 4, indicating solar stray light correction, radiometric calibration, and geometric distortion correction.
Covers a defined temporal range from 2014-10-24T10:00:00.000 to 2014-11-21T23:24:59.000 during a specific mission phase.
Produced by the authoritative source National Aeronautics and Space Administration and has undergone an external peer review.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count, file formats, and dataset size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
