Description
From September 2 to September 23, 2014, this dataset contains derived, georeferenced image products acquired by the OSIRIS Narrow Angle Camera on the Rosetta spacecraft during its prelanding mission phase. The data targets comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko and is a corrected version (V1.0) following an external peer review. It is published by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Use Cases
Generate pixel-precise maps of comet 67P's surface based on the georeferencing information.
Analyze surface changes and features on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko using the acquired imagery.
Validate and calibrate other Rosetta mission data using this peer-reviewed, corrected dataset.
Strengths
Data is georeferenced with pixel-precise accuracy, enabling spatial analysis.
Covers a specific 21-day mission phase from 2014-09-02 to 2014-09-23.
Dataset is version V1.0, corrected following an October 2018 external peer review.
