Description
OSIRIS Wide Angle Camera images of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, radiometrically calibrated in W/m^2/sr/nm. NASA's Rosetta spacecraft acquired this data during the PRELANDING mission phase from August 1 to September 2, 2014. Version 3.0 includes corrections from external reviews, updated documentation, and improved handling of image quality issues.
Use Cases
Analyze comet surface morphology and albedo based on calibrated image data
Study temporal changes in comet activity during the pre-landing phase
Validate radiometric calibration techniques for spaceborne instruments
Assess image quality for scientific analysis based on documented quality maps
Strengths
Data is radiometrically calibrated to physical units (W/m^2/sr/nm)
Version 3.0 includes corrections from 2018 external peer reviews
Coverage spans a specific 33-day mission phase in 2014
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
