Description
Solar stray light corrected, radiometric calibrated, and geometric distortion corrected image data acquired by the OSIRIS Wide Angle Camera on the Rosetta spacecraft. The dataset covers the period from 2016-05-31 to 2016-06-28, with the prime target being comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. This version V1.0 is the first version of this dataset, produced by NASA.
Use Cases
Analyze comet surface reflectance properties based on radiometric calibrated image data
Study geometric features of comet 67P based on distortion corrected images
Monitor temporal changes on the comet's surface during the specified mission phase
Strengths
Data is radiometric calibrated and geometric distortion corrected
Coverage period is explicitly defined from 2016-05-31T23:25:00.000 to 2016-06-28T23:24:59.000
Dataset is peer-reviewed, indicated by the 'Lien corrected dataset after October 2018 PSA/PDS external peer review' note
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
