Description
NASA's ROSETTA-ORBITER 67P OSIWAC 4 EXT3-MTP033 RDR-STR-REFL V1.0 dataset contains solar stray light corrected, radiometric calibrated, and geometric distortion corrected image data in reflectance units. The data was acquired by the OSIRIS Wide Angle Camera on the Rosetta spacecraft during the ROSETTA EXTENSION 3 mission phase from 2016-08 09 to 2016-09-02, targeting comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. This version V1.0 is the first version, corrected after an October 2018 external peer review.
Use Cases
Analyze comet surface reflectance properties based on calibrated image data.
Study the morphology and geological features of comet 67P based on wide-angle camera imagery.
Perform temporal analysis of comet surface changes during the specified mission phase.
Validate or develop remote sensing algorithms for small body observations.
Strengths
Data is processed to CODMAC level 4, indicating solar stray light correction, radiometric calibration, and geometric distortion correction.
Covers a specific temporal range from 2016-08-09T23:25:00.000 to 2016-09-02T06:39:59.000.
Dataset versioning is documented, with V1.0 being the first version corrected after an external peer review.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and file formats are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
