Description
Solar stray light corrected, radiometric calibrated, and geometric distortion corrected image data in reflectance units. The dataset was acquired by the OSIRIS Wide Angle Camera on the Rosetta spacecraft during the PRELANDING mission phase from August 1 to September 2, 2014. This version V1.0 is the first version of this dataset, produced by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration after an external peer review.
Use Cases
Analyze comet surface reflectance properties based on the calibrated reflectance units.
Study the morphology and geological features of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko based on the corrected image data.
Model solar stray light effects in space imagery based on the correction processes described.
Validate geometric correction algorithms for spacecraft camera data based on the resampled images.
Strengths
Data is processed to CODMAC level 4, indicating a high level of calibration and validation.
Images are corrected for solar stray light, radiometric calibration, and geometric distortion.
Covers a specific one-month observation period from 2014-08 01 to 2014-09-02.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
