Description
DERIVED MOMENT data of ion density and bulk velocity for masses 1, 2, 4, and 18 amu/e from the RPCICA instrument on the ROSETTA mission during its third extension. The dataset contains measurements of solar wind interaction with the atmosphere of comet 67P. It was published by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and last updated on March 13, 2026.
Use Cases
Modeling solar wind interaction with a comet's atmosphere based on ion density measurements.
Analyzing ion bulk velocity dynamics for masses 1, 2, 4, and 18 amu/e.
Studying the composition and behavior of a comet's ionosphere based on derived moment data.
Strengths
Data originates from a specific scientific instrument (RPCICA) on a major space mission (ROSETTA).
Focuses on four specific ion masses (1, 2, 4, and 18 amu/e).
Last update timestamp is precisely recorded (2026-03-13 12:04:52.047769).
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
