Description
Cross-calibrated data from the RPC-MIP and RPC-LAP instruments on the ROSETTA Orbiter, acquired during the EXTENSION 3 mission phase in the vicinity of comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. The dataset conforms to the Planetary Data System Standards, Version 3.6, and is provided by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Use Cases
Analyzing cometary plasma and dust environments based on RPC-MIP and RPC-LAP instrument observations.
Cross-calibrating instrument readings from the ROSETTA mission's extension phase.
Studying the physical properties of comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko based on in-situ measurements.
Validating space instrument data processing pipelines based on Planetary Data System standards.
Strengths
Data is cross-calibrated between two instruments (RPC-MIP and RPC-LAP), which likely improves reliability.
Conforms to the Planetary Data System (PDS) Standards, Version 3.6, indicating a structured archival format.
Includes documentation describing the RPC-MIP experiment.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count, file formats, and data size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
