Description
From January 8, 2016, to April 5, 2016, the Rosetta orbiter collected radio science data for global gravity measurements at comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The dataset covers a specific observation period from 2016-01-08T08:58:40.000 to 2016-01-08T14:37:56.500. It was produced by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Use Cases
Modeling the internal mass distribution of comet 67P based on gravity measurements.
Analyzing gravitational anomalies to infer subsurface structure.
Calibrating spacecraft navigation models using radio science data.
Comparing gravitational data with other Rosetta mission instrument findings.
Strengths
Data covers a specific, high-precision observation window of approximately 5.65 hours.
Dataset is associated with a major space mission (Rosetta) and a specific comet (67P).
The temporal coverage of the collection phase is explicitly defined as 2016-01-01 to 2016-04-05.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
