Description
From February 10, 2016 to March 9, 2016, this dataset contains digital numbers from telemetry packages of the VIRTIS instrument aboard the Rosetta spacecraft. It was collected during the EXTENSION 1 MTP026 phase in the vicinity of comet 67P. The data is released by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Use Cases
Analyze comet surface composition based on VIRTIS instrument telemetry
Study temporal changes in comet 67P's properties during the specified mission phase
Validate spacecraft instrument performance models using raw telemetry data
Correlate spectral observations with other Rosetta mission datasets
Strengths
Data originates from the VIRTIS instrument on the Rosetta spacecraft, a major scientific mission.
Temporal coverage is precisely defined from 2016-02-10 to 2016-03-09.
The dataset is hosted on a government data platform, suggesting a degree of curation.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and file size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
