Description
Rosetta spacecraft telemetry containing digital numbers from the VIRTIS instrument during its prelanding phase at comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. This version 2.0 dataset, produced by NASA with a fixed EGSE software, covers observations from September 23 to October 24, 2014. The previous software version produced incomplete products, which this release corrects.
Use Cases
Analyzing comet surface composition based on VIRTIS spectral telemetry data
Studying temporal changes in comet activity during the prelanding observation phase
Calibrating or validating spectral models using corrected digital number values from the fixed software
Strengths
Data covers a specific 32-day observation window from 2014-09-23 to 2014-10-24
Version 2.0 corrects a known software issue that produced incomplete data products in the prior version
Produced by NASA, a recognized authority in space science data
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count and file size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
