Description
GIADA instrument checkout data from the Rosetta spacecraft's Payload Checkout 10, conducted from September 21 to October 2, 2009. The dataset contains engineering values converted from ADC counts, including housekeeping and calibration data from all GIADA sub-systems. Scientific data are due to instrument noise, as no dust grain events were expected during this mission phase.
Use Cases
Evaluate instrument health and behavior based on housekeeping and calibration data mentioned in the description
Analyze frequency changes in the MBS subsystem to monitor for contaminant deposition in the spacecraft environment
Study instrument noise characteristics during periods with no expected scientific events
Compare instrument performance across different mission phases using the described calibration data
Strengths
Data quality for housekeeping and calibration is explicitly stated as 'good' in the description
Covers a 12-day active checkout period with procedures executed on both Main and Redundant interfaces
Includes data from all GIADA sub-systems for comprehensive instrument assessment
Limitations
Scientific data are described as 'due to noise' and not representative of real dust events
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
