Description
From 2005-04-05 to 2006-07-28, the OSIRIS Wide Angle Camera on the Rosetta spacecraft captured calibrated image data during its second cruise phase. This CODMAC level 4 dataset contains solar stray light corrected, radiometric calibrated, and geometrically corrected images in reflectance units. The data was produced by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, with the prime objective being instrument commissioning and calibration.
Use Cases
Calibrating optical instrument models based on the described stray light and radiometric corrections.
Analyzing reflectance properties of observed targets of opportunity mentioned in the description.
Validating geometric correction algorithms for spacecraft imagery based on the resampled data.
Studying instrument performance during the commissioning phase of the Rosetta mission.
Strengths
Data is corrected for solar stray light, radiometric calibration, and geometric distortion.
Covers a specific time range from 2005-04-05 to 2006-07-28.
Produced by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
The description notes several observed targets are not identifiable as a prime target.
