Description
From 2010-05-17 to 2010 09-03, this dataset contains processed image data of asteroid 21 Lutetia captured by the OSIRIS Wide Angle Camera on the Rosetta spacecraft. The data has been corrected for solar stray light, radiometrically calibrated, and geometrically resampled into reflectance units. It is a CODMAC level 4 dataset produced by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Use Cases
Analyze asteroid surface morphology and cratering based on calibrated reflectance imagery.
Study the photometric properties of asteroid 21 Lutetia based on normalized reflectance data.
Validate geometric correction and radiometric calibration algorithms for spaceborne imagery.
Conduct comparative planetary geology using imagery from a specific spacecraft fly-by.
Strengths
Data is processed to CODMAC level 4, indicating solar stray light correction, radiometric calibration, and geometric resampling.
Covers a defined mission phase from 2010-05-17 to 2010-09-03 during the Lutetia fly-by.
Produced by the authoritative source National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and file size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
