Description
From 2008-08-04 to 2008-10-05, this dataset contains solar stray light corrected, radiometric calibrated, and geometric distortion corrected image data in reflectance units. It was acquired by the OSIRIS Wide Angle Camera on the Rosetta spacecraft during the STEINS fly-by mission phase, targeting asteroid 2867 Steins. The data is provided by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and is version V1.0.
Use Cases
Analyze asteroid surface reflectance and albedo based on calibrated reflectance units
Study the morphology and geology of asteroid 2867 Steins based on corrected image data
Validate or develop photometric correction models based on solar stray light corrected imagery
Perform comparative planetary studies using data from a specific spacecraft fly-by
Strengths
Data is processed to CODMAC level 4, indicating solar stray light correction, radiometric calibration, and geometric distortion correction
Covers a defined mission phase from 2008-08-04T00:00:00.000 to 2008-10-05T23:59:59.000
Targets a specific celestial body, asteroid 2867 Steins
