Description
NASA sequenced total RNA from mouse livers in the Rodent Research 1 and Rodent Research 3 spaceflight missions. The data includes samples from flight, ground control, basal control, and vivarium control groups, with half of the samples spiked with ERCC Mix 1 or Mix 2 control RNA. This dataset is intended to test the utility of ERCC RNA controls for interpreting assay sensitivity and variability in RNA sequencing.
Use Cases
Benchmarking RNA sequencing assay sensitivity based on the inclusion of known ERCC control transcripts.
Analyzing gene expression variability between spaceflight and control mouse groups.
Developing normalization methods for transcriptomics data using ERCC spike-in controls.
Comparing transcriptomic profiles from different rodent research missions (RR-1 and RR-3).
Strengths
Includes a standard set of 92 ERCC RNA control transcripts added at known ratios.
