Description
The RV Investigator voyage IN2023_V05 collected data from June 28, 2023 to July 30, 2023, departing from and returning to Hobart. The archive includes regular measurements from instruments like ADCP, CTD, and echosounders, plus voyage-specific sampling with plankton recorders, trawls, and eDNA. Data is curated by CSIRO's National Collections and Marine Infrastructure Information and Data Centre and made publicly available through the MNF Data Trawler.
Use Cases
Modeling ocean current patterns based on Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data.
Analyzing plankton community structure based on Continuous Plankton Recorder (CPR) and Multiple Plankton Sampler samples.
Studying seabed morphology and composition based on Multibeam Echosounder and Sub-bottom Profiler data.
Investigating atmospheric-ocean gas exchange based on Greenhouse Gas Analysers and pCO2 measurements.
Tracking marine wildlife populations based on recorded observations of seabirds, cetaceans, and seals.
Strengths
Data collection spans a 33-day voyage in June-July 2023 with a comprehensive suite of over 30 listed instruments.
Archive is permanently hosted and curated by CSIRO's National Collections and Marine Infrastructure Information and Data Centre.
Includes both regular oceanographic measurements and voyage-specific biological and geophysical sampling.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and dataset size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
