Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data collected from the RV Investigator voyage IN2024_V02 between March 31, 2024 and April 19, 2024. The data were collected using the University of Hawaii Data Acquisition System (UHDAS) and post-processed using the Common Ocean Data Access System (CODAS). This processed dataset was archived by the CSIRO National Collections and Marine Infrastructure Information and Data Centre.
Use Cases
- Analyze ocean current velocity profiles based on ADCP measurements
- Study temporal variability in water column dynamics during the voyage period
- Model carbon transport and mixing processes southwest of Tasmania
- Assess instrument performance and data gaps based on described logging interruptions
Strengths
- Data collected during a dedicated 20-day research voyage for climate and carbon cycle studies
- Processed and quality-controlled by CSIRO National Collections and Marine Infrastructure
- Specific instrument configurations and deployment depths (6m and 8m below water line) are documented
Limitations
- Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
- Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
- Data collection was interrupted for one instrument (WH75) due to suspected water ingress
