Description
The Coral Sea Marine Park was surveyed by the RV Investigator voyage IN2025_V06 between October 10 and November 14, 2025. The archive contains raw data from over 40 instruments, including multibeam echosounders, CTDs, environmental DNA samplers, and atmospheric sensors. Data is curated by CSIRO's National Collections and Marine Infrastructure Information and Data Centre.
Use Cases
Map seafloor topography based on multibeam echosounder (EM712, EM124, EM2040) and sub-bottom profiler (SBP29) data
Assess deep-sea biodiversity based on environmental DNA (eDNA), beam trawl, and deep towed camera (DTC) collections
Analyze ocean currents and water column properties based on ADCP and CTD measurements
Study atmospheric-ocean interactions based on greenhouse gas analyzers, radon sensors, and weather instruments
Strengths
Data collected during a 36-day dedicated research voyage with a defined scientific objective
Archive includes data from over 40 distinct instruments covering oceanographic, atmospheric, and biological measurements
Raw data is permanently archived and accessible via the CSIRO Data Access Portal
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count and dataset size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download
