Description
RV Investigator voyage IN2026_T01 collected oceanographic and atmospheric data during a transit from Hobart to Fremantle between March 06 and March 14, 2026. The archive includes regular measurements from over 30 instruments like CTDs, echosounders, and greenhouse gas analyzers, plus voyage-specific wildlife observations. CSIRO's National Collections and Marine Infrastructure Information and Data Centre curates the raw data, with processed data available via the MNF Data Trawler.
Use Cases
Modeling ocean currents and water column properties based on ADCP and CTD data mentioned in the description
Analyzing atmospheric composition and aerosol dynamics based on greenhouse gas analyzers, CCN, and MPSS sensors
Studying marine mammal and seabird distributions based on the wildlife observations log
Mapping seafloor topography and sub-bottom features based on multibeam and sub-bottom profiler data
Strengths
Data collected by over 30 specialized oceanographic and atmospheric instruments during a dedicated research voyage
Voyage-specific wildlife observation logs for seabirds, cetaceans, and seals
Raw data is permanently archived and curated by CSIRO's National Collections and Marine Infrastructure Information and Data Centre
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
The voyage was a transit with 'no research' in its title, which may affect data collection intensity
