Description
The RV Investigator voyage IN2026_V01 collected data in the Southern Ocean between January 02, 2026 and February 25, 2026, departing from and returning to Hobart. The archive includes raw data from over 40 instruments measuring atmospheric, oceanic, and biological parameters. The CSIRO National Collections and Marine Infrastructure Information and Data Centre curates the archive, with processed data publicly available via the Marine National Facility Data Trawler.
Use Cases
Model ocean currents and water column structure based on Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) and CTD data.
Analyze marine biodiversity and ecosystem health based on Environmental DNA (eDNA) and wildlife observation data.
Study atmospheric-ocean gas exchange and climate forcing based on Greenhouse Gas Analyser and Radon sensor data.
Map seabed topography and sub-surface geology based on Multibeam Echosounder and Sub-bottom Profiler data.
Investigate sediment composition and paleoclimate records based on Multi-corer, Kasten corer, and Giant Piston Corer data.
Strengths
Data collection spans a specific voyage from January 02 to February 25, 2026.
Includes measurements from over 40 distinct instruments covering atmospheric, oceanic, geological, and biological domains.
Archive is curated by CSIRO's National Collections and Marine Infrastructure Information and Data Centre with a permanent repository.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
The raw data archive format (PNG, HTML) suggests metadata or summary files rather than primary data tables; actual data formats and accessibility require further investigation.
