Samphire Marsh No. 1 Well was drilled to a total depth of 6664 feet as a stratigraphic and structural test in the South Canning Basin. The drill passed through Quaternary, Mesozoic, Permian, and Lower Ordovician sediments before encountering Precambrian granite at 6610 feet. No signs of hydrocarbons were observed in this well.
